In this quick tutorial, I'll run through how to easily update the title and meta-description for a particular web page; using the Webflow in-built content management system.
Before jumping in, it's important to note that the title and meta information are really important when it comes to search engine optimisation (SEO).
There are a few key principles (i.e. not having the title too long, using keywords etc.) that need to be adhered to, so if you're unsure about your changes, send Dominic an email to double check before publishing.
If you're making a small change, such as a date or word, then read on...
Step 1. Log into your website (tutorial coming soon for those that don't already know).
Step 2. Click the 'PAGES' tab in the bottom menu bar
Step 3. Hover over the respective page in the menu - note: the page may be on a different page, which you can navigate using the arrows
Step 4. Click the 'Settings' button
Step 5. In the settings page, edit the respective title or description.
Step 6. Click the "Save" button at the top of the form
Step 7. Hit "Publish" on the lower right corner to make your changes live.
That's it - I hope you've found this tutorial simple and helpful for those client's who like to manage and maintain a website themselves.
You might have made the changes using the tutorial above, but when copying and pasting the link into Facebook again, the old information is still there.
Facebook tries to be efficient as possible, so may have the old information stored for faster loading.
Don't stress - you can use the "Sharing Debugger" to fix this.
Head to the website here, and copy and paste your website's URL into the area.
After hitting "Debug", it will load the information stored by Facebook - likely the be the outdated content.
Hit the "Scrape Again" to force Facebook to re-scan your website and the meta information.
If you've got any further questions, don't hesitate to get in touch!
