EPIC Events and Marketing
The existing Launceston Running Festival website provided basic information, however the visuals weren't reflective of the professionalism of the event and usability was difficult.
With a lot of experience creating websites in the fun run and event space, we drew on past lessons learnt to begin the design of the Launceston Running Festival website.
The primary strategy for the website redevelopment included a better, clearer information hierarchy - stemming from a large and consistent menu across all pages.
Entering the event is one, if not the, primary goal of users on the website in the lead up to the race each year; thus the clear 'ENTER NOW' call to actions appear in prominent places across the website.
To entice potential entrants, big and bold imagery - as well as the video background - were employed to show the prestige and fun of the events on offer as well as the stunning location.
Event branding was taken into account, tapping into the darker theme with 'colour pops' to make key areas stand out.
Overall the Launceston Running Festival website has greatly reduced the amount of requests event organisers have had to handle, thanks in part to the clearer information and FAQ pages.
